Collaboration and Commitment Result in New Program in 90 Days (G)

Thursday, Oct. 21, 1:15 p.m.-2:45 p.m.
Session:
C2
Track:
Governance

When the CEO and highly motivated board chairman of The Children’s Village joined together to address systematic issues surrounding the provision of follow-up care to teens leaving residential treatment, they were able to implement a new initiative that was planned, executed, and funded in only 90 days. The presenters will share how they created Community of Care, a program to provide supportive services to each child and their family for one year after leaving residential treatment. After three years of collecting data on the program, fewer than 5 percent of the teens in Community of Care have been arrested, and less than 5 percent have returned to residential care. Presenters will share how others can apply some or all of the same tactics to a current issue or problem.

Presenters: Jeremy C. Kohomban, president and CEO, and William A. Krupman, chairman of the board, The Children's Village
