Candid Conversations (CC)

This track, focused on CEOs and the benefits they receive from targeted networking and sharing ideas and solutions candidly, was created to capture the rich informal learning that typically occurs behind the scenes. The National Conference Planning Committee, made up of Alliance members, has selected critical issues facing the nonprofit sector and lined up peers in the Alliance network to be informal resources on each topic.

Governance (G)

Workshops explore the benefits and shortcomings of different types of governance. They also cover development and management of consistent policies and processes, and preparing a framework for evaluating and executing mergers.

Human Resources (HR)

These workshops focus on the workforce challenges facing nonprofit human resources management, and offer a variety of opportunities to turn challenges into creative solutions and opportunities.

Innovative Programs (IP)

Workshops provide overviews of cutting-edge programs from the nonprofit human services field, highlighting the benefits derived from creativity. More importantly, the workshops expand the impact of successful innovations by sharing them with conference attendees.

Leadership (L)

Workshops reveal and explore informed solutions and strategic practices that can help high-performing nonprofits and their leaders more successfully respond to the issues and challenges they face every day.

Management (M)

Workshops offer in-depth, detailed insight into strategic alliances, staff development, and organizational planning, and will reveal promising practices for strengthening an organization in today’s nonprofit environment.

Marketing and Communications (M/C)

These workshops focus on practical applications of powerful and innovative communication concepts. Presentations focus on real-world results and case histories of successful programs as implemented by Alliance colleagues.

Public Policy (PP)

Workshops help amplify the agency and constituent voices by providing real-world strategies to energize board members, volunteers, staff, and clients around activities to implement effective advocacy at all levels as well as increase agency power in public policy.

Resource Development (RD)

These workshops cover a variety of fund development topics relevant to today’s nonprofit human service organizations, including strategies for individual and planned giving, donor relationships, and board development.
